Take a break.

We take the car, it is a sunny day, it looks a peaceful day. We drive across the desert hills of the northern Negev, the same sensual hills in Shalev's book. We chose the hours within the humanitarian ceasefire, you never know. The traffic is not as usual. You once said : "Israel is 6milion people in their car driving north to south and backward, every day"... just not today. It's wartime. Our children are locked in their Kindergartens, the students aren't crowding the university, the families are not running from one shopping center to the other. Not bad,... for an instant, a sarcastic instant. The war. Leave it out of the car for today.
Tel Aviv, Jaffa, the confusion and decadent blocks of Jaffa, shops of waste and motorcycle alternate. The old city and its blend of Arab, Christian and English culture, The Israeli building rush of the 50s and 60s on top of all that. New projects, for the elite of the Tel Aviv fringe society, apartments in Jerusalem stone, facing the sea, at their foot a promenade stretches with shops and coffeehouses, it is becoming one of the most expensive quarter of Tel Aviv, well... to late to buy an apartment here, dear. The clock-tower, the old Ottoman building of the police station and the sea opens in front of us, the salty smell and breeze tickle the nostrils.
Blue, green and dark blue the sea under the surfs riding the wind and a song, an old song of שׁArik Einstein plays in my head and on my lips.

Taking time and not thinking
Sitting facing the sea and not to worry
Giving the head rest from the explosions
Giving the heart rest from the pressure

I know this is not the time
Actually I ain't ready yet
But the soul wants some rest
Grab air to get back to "reality" (work. in the original version)

Perhaps this is just a little crisis, and it's gone
Or maybe I have become a bit tired
